Hatfields & McCoys

This show is a BEAST! It’s showing on the History Channel.

It’s the true story of two families; the Hatfields and the McCoys. At the head, Anse Hatfield and Randall McCoy. The men are close friends until Hatfield leaves his men during the Civil War. Hatfield returns home to his family in West Virginia and McCoy continues fighting in the war and eventually returns home to Kentucky. There is tension between the men due to Hatfield surrendering and soon after a lot of resentment and misunderstandings lead to an all out war between the families. I’m watching part two and things are just getting worse, with friends and outside folks joining in. It’s making for an AWESOME visual of the stories I’ve heard.

Are YOU watching it?

If so, what do you think of it so far?

Will you be watching Part 3 tonight?

The Landlord: Pearl

This shit cracks me up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!

I know it’s not right since a kid’s involved, but this never gets old!

Hope this is a good start to your day! It is for me!

I thought this was a beautiful shot! It had me wanting to visit San Francisco. I’ve always wanted to go, but just haven’t been yet. As a matter of fact, in all of my travels, I haven’t been to the west coast. That realization shocked the hell out of me. I’ve been to at least half of the 50 states and at least six countries.

Since I’ve realized I haven’t been to the west coast, that has been added to my bucket list of things to do. I must get a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge. I actually have a very nice one with fog surrounding it that one of my shipmates took. I had it blown up last year to hang in the house, but have yet to put it up. I had no idea where to put it. It’s too late for all that now, so I’m not worrying about it too much.

Anyway, I need to talk to JD about San Francisco. He was just talking about all the places we’ve been together since we started dating. He seemed to be shocked that we’ve done so much traveling. Apparently, he didn’t do much of it before hand. Since he’s lived in California while serving in the U.S. Navy, I’ll have to ask him about some of the things he enjoyed while living there.

Have you been to San Francisco before? Any other places on the west coast? What did you like about your visit?

Weekend Recap

While I sit here on this king size bed in this plush hotel, I’m thinking about the past few days I spent with family.

Today is Memorial Day, one dedicated to observing the service of men and women who gave their lives for the freedom of others.

Their have been many who have sacrificed their lives daily to fight for the rights of others, and fortunately in this country, it’s something you do voluntarily.

Whatever the reason one chooses to go that route, it’s definitely not a decision that’s made easily. Everyone is not built mentally or physically for the call of duty. And once you’re in, you have to maintain a level of discipline and obedience that some can’t handle.

Most of all, service is about being ambassadors for the United States. We pledge to honor, support and defend the constitution of the United States and some of us take that seriously; I’m one of them, as well as JD.

People have thanked us all day for our service, but I want to say, thank you for supporting us. It means more than you know.

Have a good one and enjoy your families today.
